Why is mental illness taking so long to come out of the dark ages?

As a society I have seen us come a long way in bringing to light a lot of illness and finding treatment for them. We now opening discuss and try to care for illness and behaviours that was once taboo. Alcoholics, abuse and abusers, anxieties but for the most part we have still left the stigma and shame of some mental illness in the dark.

It gives the insurance companies an excuse not to cover these illnesses, and there is still too much denial of Schizophrenia and Other Psychotic Disorders. Maybe because they may be classified as incurable, but for what ever reason we need to change this. Please pray that society in general will begin to bring out into the light and face up to these problems. We have come to far with exposing other taboo subjects to light now it's time to get serious with mental illness.

We must demand that government and insurance companies get serious about getting and encouraging treatment and covering associated costs. We brought Aids out into the light and have progressed with treatment and awareness now it's time to begin openly discussing and formulating efforts to help mental illness. 

Maybe like other things we may have to begin by changing the name from mental illness to a term that is acceptable to society in general. You can't separate the brain from other physical organs so it should be recognized as just another organ for us to learn more about and treat. 

PROVING A POINT

Would increasing the income tax rate by 1 or 2 % on the top income earners  actually hurt the economy and lose jobs?  I really can't see how it could be a positive act, but we just don't know. Is the Republican Party really only digging in for the elite rich people?  I don't think so but we have no evidence to prove otherwise. Is the real issue spending?  Yes we have to tackle SS and Medicare / Medicaid. 

To me the time to act is now and sooner than later. The Republicans have to concede the 1 or 2 % tax increase now so they can put the pressure on the Democrats to then accept something like the Ryan plan for entitlement's. When and if this increase in revenue shows not to help but to actually reduce jobs and hurt the economy as predicted by the Republicans, then the elections in 2014 will turn the Senate and the House to the Republicans and we can then fix the taxes and benefit programs as intended. We may just have to prove to Americans that Obama's plans just don't work. 

THE NEW BALANCE APPROACH

NO I don't mean a new pair of shoes, although they really are neat. I mean the things we need to do to get a balanced budget. well maybe not totally balanced but a good start. I don't like to admit it but an increase in taxes for the rich is going to happen and although I don't think there is a real mandate for it, we have no choice. I think that one or two percent is where I would draw the line and I would also draw the line on corporate taxes to be lowered by the same amount. 

Now since we already have a sliding tax scale why not a sliding benefits scale too. I think that below a certain income people would have full insurance Medicaid and above a certain income scale there would be a max pay out of  20%. this would help all the seniors on fixed income and low income families also. Those with incomes that receive annuities or retirement income that total out to maybe $70,000 would be at the 50% level. Which means they would pay half of their health care cost, which gives them the opportunity to buy private supplemental insurance so they are also fully covered. that covers Medicare so now we have to do something with Social Security.

Social Security could also have a sliding scale of some type beginning with those under 50 or 55. Here there would be a choice of percentage of contributions options The person could choose to contribute say 50% to SSA and 50% to a private plan or 100 % to a private plan. I think that also there could be a tax credit established for the amount that is put into a private plan. This makes good sense to me, because they are saving the Government cost by doing this so they should benefit and also it can be an incentive for the person and private insurance providers to compete for this business. 

Oh man I am so smart I scare myself at times. BTW why in the heck can't our paid representatives figure this out.THAT IS THE REAL QUESTION. WHO ARE THEY WORKING FOR.

THE "ME" GENERATION HAS BECOME THE WE" GENERATION.

I have seen it coming for a long time now. Starting around the Johnson era I saw people thinking differently. They noticed or were taught or convinced by someone that lying was OK if the results benefited you. they realized that they didn't have to pay some bills because it would cost too much for someone or a business too much to take them to court. they found that they didn't need health insurance because if they were sick they would get treatment anyway. 

Husbands learned that if they didn't take up residents with their spouse they could get welfare and unemployment and a host of other benefits from the government. Even elderly couples who had been married for a long time got divorced in order to get more benefits. 

So it has been a continuing search for more ways to get out of commitments and obligations for financial gain. All the time not realizing they are selling their soul to the company store (the gov.). I wrote about this earlier. Now they are in hock to the Gov because the Gov won't let them earn money under the threat of losing income.   from the Gov. What a pickle they are in so who do they turn to? The Gov again of course but this time they turn out in force like the living dead to vote into office one of their own. A true socialist and secular non God fearing person from the Liberal Establishment of academia.  

I'm sure if any liberal  read this it would not be understood at all. The words would have no life to them No Spirit to them because they only look at the logos not the rhema.

In conclusion, The me's have become the we's and us left are in the minority.Conservatives and Christians are now not the silent majority that we thought we were but now we are the now the unheard minority and until they stifle or shut down Fox News we will not be heard of again. So now more than ever pray and live your life in character. I'm  glad to set politics aside now for awhile, but not my hopes, ideals, faith and resolve to fight against turning this country into a secular God-less nation. I will not apologize for my Faith or what I think is the real American Way and Spirit. For as long as I can say it and even after they force Christians underground I will say   "Come Lord Jesus".

GUILT BY ASSOCIATION 

I am amazed that after knowing about rev. wright and his terrible hate sermons that anyone would vote to put in the office of President of the United State on of his disciples and 20 year friend Barrack Obama. I can not separate the democrats that voted and will vote again for Obama. An acquaintance is one thing but a "friend" is quite different. 

What kind of defense can they offer that would not be weak and racist and Un American?

Ever since the late 1960's there has been a new form of slavery. A lot of people saw what was happening and knew it was wrong, but had no idea how to change it. Fathers were encouraged to leave their home and family so there income would not count against the household income there by reducing or eliminating the benefits to help the family from starving. this is truly stupid and not the way of this country.

The solution was just as ignorant. To solve further help people we extended this policy to early SS retirement SSI Disability benefits etc. On and on it goes the Gov decides to get these folks off the welfare and entitlement pro grans is to penalize them if they would seek any lefitmete employment by reducing there benefits or even disqualifying them.

This is counter productive to the effort to help people and have people enter the job market. I am sure that the large amount of folks in this bondage of the Gov programs would snap at the chance to make some extra cast legally and not lose their benefits or have them reduced. Think about it. If these people took a part time job or a full time job we have people working and paying taxes (with holding any way). And isn't this the idea anyway? No one can be comfortable on what the Gov gives them. They can barely survive  on what they get.

You have to realize that these payment will be paid to these people in need for a very long time and by removing the restrictions to the amount of money they can earn would be an incentive and release from bondage. They may not realize they are in bondage but once the taste freedom they will discover  how good it is.to be free. This not on COMPASSIONATE but realistic and good for JOBS.

I purpose that we end all restrictions and penalties that would prohibit anyone from working. the foks in this condition would not be taxed on their benefits and would not be taken off the rolls of Medicaid or other programs. Taxes if any would be on the amount of income the earn form regular employment . How long would they stay on the rolls under this plan?  Keeping their benefits would be subject only to a percentage earned over and above the poverty level. No one is going to get rich on this plan, but there could be some that find regular employment very rewarding and gain so much that they are lifted far above the poverty level.

I think it would even be more incentive if the benefits would still be secure up until the level of income is twice that of the poverty level. These folks are not leaving the only security they hve so why  not give them a chance to better their lives. There is nothing lost here it is a VIN WIN for all.

 This is Compassionate Conservatism at it's best. Face it if something like this is not done the whole system goes on like it is and that is Slavery. Let the people go. 

BACK TO DE BLOG

It's time to work out my frustrations with the political climate again. The other day I watched the movie 2016 OBAMA'S AMERICA and it just made me more determined to speak my mind on this election.

I am not ashamed of GOD and I am convinced that the goats are being separated from the sheep. Some of you will understand this. Liberals will think it is foolishness, but God says in his Word that the wisdom of man is FOOLISHNESS to HIM.
You know where I'm coming from, those who are like thinkers. those who have a foundation built of Christ.

Here is the BIG problem folks. Those who have eyes to see and ears to hear are now only listening and seeing what is their own ideals and principles. I don't expect any Democrat or liberal( sometimes I wonder why I use two words to describe THEM) In the first place they wouldn't even begin to read this post. I have to admit also that I will not listen or watch their propaganda. Why is this? there is such a polarization of the parties now that it is impossible to compromise or read or watch the other side's story. I believe it is impossible for anyone to listen or read an opposing view. I admit to it and you know it's true. I lost a friend over this stuff. and now that I am sending this post out there I'm sure I will lose others.

It is time for all good men and women to come to the aid of their country. You have typed this as an exercise for years now LIVE IT.

As for me and my household I will choose to associate and live along side of people of like mind who fear God and look to Him for peace and comfort and not the government.
